- ※MAX4466 Sound Sensor: Realize sound detection, analysis and recognition, and effectively amplify and preprocess weak sound signals so that subsequent algorithms can extract and analyze sound features
- ※Supply voltage: 2.4 - 5.5V | Static supply current: 24μA| Gain bandwidth: 600kHz
- ※Widely used in music playback, speech recognition, voice communication and other fields, it can improve the sensitivity and sound quality of the audio system
- ※The board comes with a 20-20KHz electret microphone soldered on
- ※For the best performance, use the "quietest" supply available (on an for Arduino, this would be the 3.3V supply)
Product Description
Instructions:
- Ground GND and connect VCC to 2.4-5VDC.
- The audio waveform will come out from the OUT pin. The output will have a DC bias of VCC/2, so when it is completely quiet, the voltage will be stable at VCC/2 volts (it is DC coupled).
- If the audio device you are using requires AC coupled audio, please place a 100uF capacitor between the output pin and input of the device.
- If you want to connect to an audio amplifier with differential input or containing decoupling capacitors, you do not need a 100uF capacitor.
- The output pins are not designed to drive speakers or anything, but rather the smallest in ear headphones - if you want to connect the amplifier directly to the speaker, you will need an audio amplifier (such as a 3.7W stereo amplifier).
- If you want to connect to the microcontroller pin, you don't need an amplifier or decoupling capacitor - connect the OUT pin directly to the microcontroller ADC pin.
- For audio response projects, we recommend using the FFT driver library, which can take audio input and 'convert' it to frequency.
Description:
- On the back, we include a small trimmer pot to adjust the gain.
- The output is track to track, so if the sound becomes louder, the output can reach 5Vpp!
- You can set the gain to 25 to 125 times. This is reduced to approximately 200mVpp (for normal speaking volumes about 6 inches away), which is very suitable for connecting to objects that require a desired "line level" input without clipping, or up to approximately 1Vpp, which is very suitable for reading from microcontroller ADCs.
