Optical Measurement Principle

The refractometer uses light refraction through a prism and lens to determine concentration. A higher reflex angle indicates higher concentration, while a lower angle indicates lower concentration. Clear calibration lines ensure accurate and reliable readings every time.

Easy 3-Step Operation

  • Place a few drops of sample on the prism.
  • Close the cover plate, point to light, and look through the eyepiece.
  • Adjust calibration screw to “0” if needed.

Notice:

  • Ensure accurate measurements by calibrating the refractometer before initial use. Frequent calibration isn’t necessary—once every few months is sufficient.
  • When testing, make sure the liquid covers the entire prism surface without air bubbles or dry spots.
  • Clean the instrument with a soft cloth after each use and keep it dry and clean to maintain accuracy and durability. Never immerse the instrument in water.
  • While the device can measure acidic and alkaline liquids, avoid long-term use with these substances and clean residues immediately after measurement.
  • Handle the instrument with care to avoid loosening any parts, and prevent dropping, colliding, or intense shaking.
