Driver lteration and Upgrades. A Remarkable Evolution.

Building upon the mature architecture of the previous generation Volume, the Volume S upgrades its drivers by moving from composite units to two ingependent high and mid-frequency balanced armature drivers with separate output pathways. This results in clearer treble and fuller mids. Additionally, it uses an active + passive dynamic driver bass combo, ensuring purer, more powerful bass.

Active + Passive Dynamic Driver Bass combo

The Volume S uses a combination of both active and passive dynamic drivers. The passive membrane made of wool-based diaphragm material is ingeniously inverted and placed at the dome position of the active bass driver. This design effectively absorbs unwanted noise outside the bass frequencies, ensuring that the bass remains clean and powerful. The active dynamic driver features a titanium dome and a large-size speaker system-like silicone suspension design, offering long excursion and low distortion characteristics. This setup brings deep, impactful bass tones to the Volume S, adding a new level of impact to your musical journey.

Self-Developed Special Diaphragm, ED Series Balanced Armature.

The Volume S features a self-developed full-range driver. The use of a full-range driver has always been Softears' tuning approach. By using a single driver or a group of drivers as full-range units, it helps to harmonize the tonal balance, making the headphone's sound more cohesive without any sense of disjointedness or detachment. lt's like mixing red and blue aint to create a beautiful purple.

RC Tuning Network Technology Precision Three-Way Crossover

With high adaptability and ultra-low loss, the RC Tuning Network provides a more powerful and full sound experience. The classic Softears flagship crossover circuit is implemented, enabling even a limited number of drivers to achieve Hi-End performance. The Volume S utilizes 8 precisely tuned crossover components to filter frequencies and control their range. The necessary frequency response is achieved through series and parallel connections of capacitors and resistors. This RC Tuning Network technology effectively filters excess signals, achieving even impedance distribution across the entire frequency range. Regardless of the front-end output impedance, the sound quality remains stable, and the sound becomes more powerful offering a comprehensive sound playback.
