Designed to replace the FireAngel CO-9B and CO-9X models, the FA6813 carbon monoxide detector is fitted with an advanced electrochemical sensor to detect dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO) in your home. It alerts you with 4 loud chirps—85 dB(A) at 3 m (min)—and a flashing red ‘CO’ LED light. In the event of the CO alarm sounding, follow these 3 steps: VENTILATE: Keep calm; open doors and windows to ventilate your home. Stop using fuel-burning appliances and turn them off. EVACUATE: Evacuate the property immediately. RING FOR HELP: If in the UK, call The National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. If outside the UK, call your supplier's emergency number. Do not use appliances until they have been checked by an expert. Get medical help for anyone suffering the effects of CO poisoning. Fitted with 2 AA batteries, each alarm displays a flashing amber '!' and emits an audible chirp when the batteries need replacing. Sleep Easy You can silence the low battery alarm by activating the Sleep Easy function—simply press the large test button to mute the chirp for 8 hours whilst the amber light continues to flash. Replace the batteries ASAP. Crescendo Test This feature helps to protect your hearing by allowing you to choose the volume level of the test alarm. Hold down the test button, and the alarm will move through the increasing volume levels until you find the alert sound level you are comfortable with. Safety Test To test your device, press the large test button to ensure your CO detector is working properly. A loud, high-pitched sound will verify that the alarm is functioning correctly. Test your device regularly.
