I can't get the HDMI port to work. What should I do?

Why is the screen black and no display when using the hub to connect to the monitor?
Check your settings: On Mac, ensure it's in 'desktop mode' with lid closed. On Windows, verify display mode isn't set to 'PC screen only' or 'Second screen only'.
