NOTE:- These are specialised inks suitable for Sublimation Heat Transfer only. They are not suitable for everyday photo or document printing. If you have already filled your printer with standard epson ink please get in contact with to supply your kit with replacement dampers for your printer.

Sublimation Ink is a specialised product used for printing images onto garments or sublimation treated products (i.e. mugs). Once an image is printed onto 'sublimation paper' the image is transferred using a heat press.

The application of heat and pressure causes the dyes in the image to convert to a gas. The heat applied to the object being printed causes the 'pores' of the object to open. Rapid removal of the heat causes these 'pores' to close and the gas (now trapped in the 'pores') converts back to a solid, leaving the coloured image.

The printed output must be transferred hot using a heat press at a temperature 200-240 degrees Celsius for optimum transfer efficiency. s. Using lower temperatures will reduce the print transfer efficiency. Time and temperature will vary depending on type and nature of material which transfer is applied. When used to print on fabric, sublimation inks will only work on synthetic materials (must be less than 10% cotton) unless you are printing onto a transfer style specialist paper.
