Each card is made of 304-grade stainless steel, which has a melting point of 1450°C (2642°F). Our stress test shows that etched letters will still be visible after being heated to 1300°C (2372°F). Most house fires will never exceed this temperature.

What is a Seed Phrase?

If you own a Trezor, Ledger, or other brand of cold wallet, you must protect the 12 or 24 word sequence (aka seed phrase) that was generated when you set up your wallet.

If your hardware wallet is ever lost or destroyed, the only way to recover your funds is through your seed phrase.

Is Engraving Difficult?

If you engrave by pressing down with extreme force, it can be difficult. Luckily, you don't need to apply much pressure with the tungsten-tipped pen in order to successfully engrave. Gently trace and re-trace each letter repeatedly (5-10 strokes per letter) and it will be successfully engraved into the steel plates.

It takes approximately 30 minutes to engrave each 24 word seed phrase. For more detailed instructions, make sure to read the instructional card provided.
