CURT OEM Puck System Gooseneck Hitch Kits

Drop it in. Hitch up. Tow.

If your pickup truck is equipped with the OEM puck system, CURT has the fast, easy, dependable solution for gooseneck towing: the CURT gooseneck ball and safety chain anchor kit.

The components of the kit easily drop into the truck bed pucks, lock into place and are immediately ready to couple to a gooseneck trailer. When you’re finished towing, they can easily be removed to open up the truck bed to haul other cargo.

Each kit includes

  • Gooseneck ball
  • Two safety chain anchors
  • Rubber hole cover
  • Durable storage case

Advantages of a CURT puck system gooseneck kit

Simple installation

The ball and anchors are designed for simple, drop-in installation, using a quarter-turn latch locking system. This eliminates the need for tools and makes hitching up your trailer easier.

Reliable safety

The safety chain anchors are constructed from forged steel for maximum strength, and they feature large safety chain openings to accept heavy-duty clevis hooks from the largest of trailers.

Heavy-duty rating

Each gooseneck hitch ball meets U.S. VESC V-19 specifications. Gooseneck balls are available with a 30,000 lbs. or 38,000 lbs. gross trailer weight rating (limited to lowest-rated towing component).

Convenient storage

When you’re not towing, the durable storage case allows you to keep the components organized and safely stored, while the rubber hole cover keeps the gooseneck ball hole free of grime and debris.

How does the quarter-turn anchoring system work?

Step 1

Lift and twist the latch on the gooseneck hitch ball to release the retention balls.

Step 2

With the latch open, drop the gooseneck ball into the OEM puck system hole.

Step 3

Close the latch to lock the ball into the hole. Then, hitch up your trailer.

How to select a gooseneck hitch

There are three ways to set up your pickup truck for gooseneck towing:

A. Use the OEM puck system in the truck bed. Not all trucks have this option.

B. Use installation brackets and a gooseneck head. This is the traditional method.

C. If your truck is already equipped for 5th wheel towing, use the existing base rails.

A. Installing with an OEM puck system

If your Ford, GM, Nissan or Ram truck is equipped with a puck system in the truck bed, a CURT OEM puck system gooseneck ball and safety chain anchor kit is the easiest way to equip your vehicle for gooseneck towing.

The components of the kit drop into the pucks with a simple quarter-turn anchoring system, and they can be removed whenever necessary to use the truck bed for hauling other cargo.

B. Installing with vehicle-specific brackets

If your truck does not have a puck system, the traditional installation method is to use brackets and a gooseneck hitch. The hitch and brackets bolt onto the truck frame and are designed to be vehicle-specific for the easiest possible installation.

For a one-person installation, the CURT Double Lock EZr gooseneck hitch is recommended. CURT also offers OEM-style gooseneck hitches for Ford and Ram that install quickly and easily.

C. Installing with existing 5th wheel base rails

If your vehicle is already set up to tow a 5th wheel trailer – that is, if you have permanently installed 5th wheel base rails in the truck bed – CURT has two solutions.

The Spyder 5th wheel rail gooseneck hitch #16085 and bent plate 5th wheel rail gooseneck hitch #16055 easily drop into any industry-standard 5th wheel base rails and provide a 2 5/16” gooseneck ball and 25,000-lb. GTW capacity (limited to lowest-rated towing component).
