Samsara”, meaning ‘rebirth’ represents Bladnoch's inaugural release since new ownership. Aged for a minimum of 8 years, this was matured in first fill ex Bourbon casks and first fill ex Californian Red Wine casks – both American Oak. Light amber-gold, sweet opening aromas of gobstopper and vanilla are followed by fresher notes of lemon mousse / lemon butter, stewed pear and muesli. An easy entry builds to a medium-weight dram with appealing fruit slice flavours, threads of sweet smoke and gentle spice. The finish accents vanilla malt and dunked tea biscuit. Moreish everyday drinking whisky with good body.
