Three Additional Challenges

Virulent Strain Challenge

In the Virulent Strain Challenge, a disease has gone out of control in nasty, unpredictable ways.

Mutation Challenge

The Mutation Challenge adds a fifth purple disease to the game that appears in unpredictable ways. Players must either cure all five diseases or cure the four other diseases and have no purple cubes on the board.

Bio-Terrorist Challenge

The Bio-Terrorist Challenge pits one player, the Bio-Terrorist, against the others, seeking to create panic throughout the world with a fifth disease. The Bio-Terrorist wins if the other players lose and there is at least one purple disease cube on the board.


Seven New Roles

On the Brink includes seven new role cards with the matching pawns.

The Bio-Terrorist Role card can only be used when playing the Bio-Terrorist Challenge. The other six Role cards can be added to the base game Role cards before shuffling and dealing 1 Role card to each player. The new Role cards include:

  • The Bio-Terrorist
  • The Archivist
  • The Containment Specialist
  • The Epidemiologist
  • The Field Operative
  • The Generalist
  • The Troubleshooter

Eight New Events

This expansion includes eight new events cards!

Add these new event cards to the five base game event cards, shuffle and play. Add two event cards per player to the Player cards, before shuffling and dealing Player cards to each player.
