Collaborations, a specially priced boxed set from MN Records, features three albums from the label's back catalog that involve partnerships between Michael Nyman and other artists and traditions. The Glare pairs Nyman with British soul singer David McAlmont, whose songs based on contemporary news stories are layered over pre-existing Nyman compositions. Acoustic Accordions brings Nyman together with Poland's foremost accordion ensemble, Motion Trio. The album contains interpretations of nine of Nyman's greatest hits. Rounding out the set is Sangam, Nyman's ground-breaking collaborative work with leading Indian musicians, reflecting both the commonalities and the differences between Western experimental and Indian classical music traditions.
