Jurassic Time Travel is inspired by the fact that Aqua Dragons® have been on Earth since the Dinosaurs roamed! Aqua Dragons®, or by their scientific name Artemia Salina, have been on Earth since at least 200 million years ago, if not longer. Paleontologists have found Jurassic and Triassic age Artemia fossils which confirm that the versatile and hardly little Aqua Dragons® shrimp were alive and swimming then just as they are today. They adapted so well to their salt water surroundings in lakes and seas that they have survived mass extinction periods until now without evolving at all, thanks to their ability to reproduce in five different ways, according to the environment they were living in. Aqua Dragons®’ eggs have an amazing natural capacity called cryptobiosis which allows them to stay alive, but hibernating in a dried state, only to hatch many years later when placed in water. Once the eggs make contact with water they hatch within 48 hours. 45 days after hatching, these small beings can grow up to 2cm long. The Aqua Dragons® life cycle project takes around 45-60 days to complete. Aqua Dragons® are fun for kids, and animal lovers who will choose the exact moment they will bring to life their beloved pets! Hatching and growing Aqua Dragons® help children learn important values like caring, for a living creature, being responsible by remembering to feed and care for them, and treating live animals with respect.
