The idea for this 4 cd set came from collecting together all the tribute tracks originally released on the 3 legendary Immagi-nary Records tribute albums in the early 90's and tying them up in one set along with the excellent incisive John Tobler audio interview with Lou Reed and along the way we found a couple of rare 1980's live tracks of Nico performing Velvet's material. The influence of The Velvet Underground on rock greatly exceeds their sales figures and chart numbers. They are one of the most important rock and roll bands of all time, laying the groundwork in the Sixties for many tangents rock music would take in ensuing decades.
