Pepper Mechanism

Developed and manufactured by Peugeot in France since 1874, the pepper mill features a specific mechanism to get the best out of peppercorns. Made of case-hardened teeth, it offers exceptional precision. The two stage mechanism first cracks the spice and then grinds it into a uniform powder. Well made, long-lasting, the Paris mill is virtually indestructible. It’s a chef’s favorite that will be passed on from one generation to the next.

Salt Mechanism

Peugeot believes that each spice deserved its own mechanism. Salt and pepper are very different so Peugeot has developed and manufactured a specific mechanism to process dry salt crystals. Made of stainless-steel and treated against corrosion, it is adjustable and offers a precise, uniform grind. Enjoy your favorite dry salt or salt blend, as long as the size of the crystals is below 4mm. If you’re looking to grind grey salt or Celtic salt, we recommend Peugeot’s ceramic mechanism featuring a patented anti-clogging mechanism has been engineered specifically for wet salt.

u'Select Grind Selection

u’Select from Peugeot is the perfect grind selection system. Simply turn the ring at the bottom of the mill to select the desired coarseness. This patented precision adjustment system offers infinite grinding options, from extra fine to very coarse and anywhere in between. 6 pre-defined levels of grind for pepper and for salt are marked on the u’Select ring.
