CS42448 supports adding up to eight single ended or six differential audio input sources, as well as up to eight single ended or differential output sources. High integration, multiple audio channels can be transmitted to the DSP chip without the need for external analog-to-digital (A/D) converters to achieve audio processing. The auxiliary serial input can be used for two additional PGM (Pulse Code Modulation) data channels. The input function is more powerful, so it can enable audio/video receivers that can receive audio from multiple sources. In car entertainment systems, audio input sources can include in car navigation systems, GD/DVD players, and radio tuners.
