Works with most (but not all) of 5 volt IP cameras.
Not recommended for 12V IP camera. Does not work with micro USB power IP camera. (wrong size)
Note: two common problems experienced when buying a DC extension cable.
1 wrong plug size - this is the most common problem. Please check your device by measuring the barrel plug of the power supply. This will only accept 1.35mm (inner diameter) x 3.5mm (outer diameter) plug. 1.35 mm x 3.5 mm plugs are often used for small digital devices. However, not all wireless IP camera uses 1.35 mm x 3.5 mm plug. Please check the plug size before purchasing.
2 lack of power - The longer the cable, the more resistance and power dissipation and therefore requires more power from the power supply. Most commercial products do not provide a strong power adapter. At 20 ft length, the power loss is noticeable. Please make sure you have sufficient power supply to use extension cables
Make sure that the power adapter can provide enough power via the extension cable. From 20 ft and above, the resistance and the drop in power can be felt.
