1. The operating system of a PC operates on a binary system, defining 1 GB = 1024 MB = 1024 * 1024 KB = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 B.

2. On the storage side, it uses a decimal calculation method where 1 GB = 1000 MB = 1000 * 1000 KB = 1000 * 1000 * 1000 B.

3. For example, the actual capacity of a 16 GB USB drive is 16000000000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 14.9 GB = 93% of 16 GB. When checking the capacity (user space) on a PC, it will appear less than the manufacturer's stated capacity. Generally, anything 90% (inclusive) or more is considered acceptable.

• Format: When using a drive recorder for the first time, you may be prompted to format or initialize the memory card; this is normal, so follow the instructions provided.
