Aromatherapy with natural plant oils is a very good way to regulate and balance our emotions. The aromatic molecules of essential oils reach the limbic system of our brain through the olfactory pathway, which is responsible for managing our emotions and memories. The sense of smell is the only one of the five senses that is not controlled by the mind. We can close our eyes when we don't want to see, we can cover our ears when we don't want to hear; but we can't stop breathing. Therefore, smell is something we have to accept passively. When we smell bergamot, we feel happy; when we smell rose, we feel happy; when we smell cedar, we feel powerful. This is the feeling brought to us by the specific aroma characteristics of the plant.
