Step 1: Place clamp over shank

CURT anti-rattle hitch clamps require zero tools for installation because they feature an adjustable lever. To install, begin by placing the clamp over the shank. Clamps are available for various receiver sizes, so make sure you purchase the correct clamp size.

Step 2: Insert shank into receiver

Next, insert the shank of the ball mount, cargo carrier, bike rack or other towing accessory into the receiver. Secure the shank with a proper hitch pin. Then, position the U-bolt clamp so it wraps under the receiver lip, while the lever base remains on the shank.

Step 3: Close clamp lever

Finally, close the hitch clamp lever so that it tightens down onto the shank. No tools necessary! If the clamp does not create a firm lock, open the lever again and turn the adjustment nut to tighten the connection.

Quieter towing

An anti-rattle hitch pin is great for hollow-shank accessories, helping to prevent annoying vibrations and wobbling while towing. Each kit is made up of an anti-rattle shim that inserts into the hollow shank and a threaded pin.

Secure installation

The threaded anti-rattle pin screws into the shim piece and tightens down securely, preventing noise. The pin is designed to replace a standard hitch pin – no extra hitch pin required! – and the threaded design allows it to be tightly installed for a secure connection.

Standard fit

Anti-rattle pins are available for all standard hitch receiver sizes, including 1-1/4-inch, 2-inch and 2-1/2-inch. They fit hollow shank accessories only, making them an ideal fit for many ball mounts, cargo carriers, bike racks and much more.
