About Satvma Kiriko
Cut glass made in the Satvma region at the end of the Edo period.
We use crystal glass containing 24-25% lead, and then fuse colored glass about 1-2mm to a colorless glass surface.
The colored glass is cut and polished to a product called "Satvma Kiriko".
Satvma Kiriko has a thickness of the colored glass but the color is light, so it is characterized by a gradation of "blue" between the clear glass and colored glass.
How to care for your Satvma Kiriko
The Satvma Kimeko is not heat-resistant glass. Pour with boiling water will break it.
Crystal glass is soft glass. Do not attempt to open glass.
Dip in warm water with dish detergent, and then wash carefully with a sponge or cloth. Clean the cutting surface with a soft brush from time to time.
All blown glass, cut, and polished are done by artisans, so the weight and thickness of each piece may vary from piece to piece.
In rare cases, there are bubbles or other contaminants in the glass, but this is not a quality issue.
Please do not use in dishwasher, microwave or other items.
