Re-seasoning tips for all cast irons

Scour

In case you find that food is sticking to the cast iron or that it has hints of rust, reseasoning is simple. Step 1 - We advise you first scour your cast iron with a steel wool in any areas showing rust.

Wash

Step 2 - Next rinse the residue using water, sponge and soap if you desire.

Dry

Step 3 - With a paper towel or kitchen towel dry the inside and outside of your cast iron. We advise you do not leave any water or air dry your cast iron to avoid further rust.

Re-seasoning tips for all cast irons

Oil

Step 4 - Douse with a teaspoon of oil.

Coat

Step 5 - With a paper towel coat the oil throughout the cast iron, inside and out.

Bake

Step 6 - Set your oven to 350˚F. Cover the bottom rack with aluminum foil to protect your oven from any oil drippings from the cast iron. Place the cast iron upside down in the oven and bake for an hour. Then let the cast iron cool. You cast iron has now been reasoned, its that simple.
