Georgie’s parents meet a very old woman who desperately needs a new home for her unicorn, Sparkle. They take Sparkle to their farm for a while to teach Georgie how hard it is to look after a pony by herself. Then they will give it away to another home.
But Georgie has other ideas. She can see Sparkle’s horn, but other people can’t. And Sparkle can talk to her through brain waves. She also understands everything that people are saying. Georgie will do anything to keep her. When a lost pony causes a road accident, it ends up living with Sparkle.
A real pony is much harder to keep than a magical unicorn. And it needs training. With Sparkle’s help, Georgie and her friend, Emily, learn to use positive reinforcement training to teach the frightened, hungry pony how to get along with people. Along the way, Georgie makes new friends and enemies.
