There are few more recognizable, successful, or prolific soccer superstars in the English Premier League than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. More commonly known as Mo Salah, he is consistently held in high regard as a world-class footballer and is clearly among the greatest to hail from the African continent.

The Egyptian phenom has been a mainstay of the attacking threat of Jurgen Klopp’s tactics since joining the historic football club in 2017. His success with Liverpool has been consistently validated with both continental and domestic club honors as well a plethora of individual awards, including the coveted FIFA Puskas Award. His prolific career, to date, is the result of his natural talent, unwavering work ethic, speed, and ability on the ball in tandem with his elite-level finishing.

Salah’s professional career started in 2010 with Al Mokawloon Al Arab Soccer Club as a teenager. However, within two years of his professional career, the young Egyptian was earmarked by European scouts and signed with the Swiss team, FC Basel. Continuing to impress in the European ranks, Salah’s career trajectory continued to rise as he joined Chelsea FC in England. However, this first jaunt into the Premier League was not as successful as his contemporary tenure with Liverpool because he struggled to convince then-Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho that he merited game time.
