This was a cool vintage after the very wet spring in the Macedon Ranges, allowing the fruit to hang out there and gather flavour and balance to produce a wine of elegance and precision. The notes of quartz and slight wet pebble character dominate with a little citrus edge. The palate is delightfully framed with a linear precision held and defined by a fine acidity. It had 14 months in oak of which 23% was new and as expected had about 90% malolactic fermentation to add palate richness and texture. Very nice wine. 95 Points Ray Jordan, WinePilot
