The 'Clos des Cessieux' is a plot of Syrah that his wife's grandfather gave a 25 year lease out on in 1988, which Hervé only got his hands back on therefore in 2013. Having been farmed inorganically, this plot has since been left to regenerate & due to its rocky terroir, he believes now its chemical free. Here is where Hervé's finesse in the cellar is truly noticed, as traditionally a Syrah from the region would be bold and brooding. Not without its regions traits, dark red fruits and savoury notes of bacon fat are definitely there, however they don't stand up to the vehement floral aromas. Winery Notes
