A popular festival band of US musicians combined with UK musicians who produce superb goodtime Trad jazz. American musicians Jim Fryer trombone and Jeff Barnhart piano, vocals started to come to the UK over ten years ago to do festivals and rapidly developed a popular following. A band was formed from leading players on the Trad Jazz scene to capitalise on their popularity. This is their fifth album for Lake Records and their first studio recording the previous ones have been 'live' recordings from the Keswick Jazz Festival. They can only perform twice a year doing tours in April and September when Jim and Jeff are in the UK, but easily outsell other current working bands on the label. The emphasis is on entertainment, quality and good footstompin' jazz. The old term 'goodtime jazz' is the perfect description.
