Samarium cobalt is a type of rare earth metal magnet that has the ability to persist and work at high temperatures of up to 300 degrees Celsius, and are resistant to corrosion. Due to their high maximum operating temperature, they are usually used in applications such as electric motors, turbomachines and sensors. They also have many uses in engineering and manufacturing where size and strength are important. What's more, they are completely resistant to corrosion without additional coating. Each magnet measures 25mm x 10m x 3mm thick, and each can hold 3.3kg in a vertical position.
