Dallas Wayne set out to make an album true to his honkytonk country roots. The result "Here I Am In Dallas" is honkytonk to the extreme. If you feared that real country music, in the tradition of Vern Gosdin, George Jones and Faron Young, had disappeared forever, fear not It once again rears its whiskeydrenched, cryin' steel guitar, honkytonkshuffle head with this album. Dallas draws on a selection of choice covers spanning the 60s through to the 80s plus six originals in that tradition. The title song was probably the last great Faron Young single. Other selections were originally cut by the likes of Vernon Oxford Shadows Of My Mind, Ray Frushay Cheatin Traces and Gary Stewart Little Junior. Dallas also gives his treatment to the classic honkytonk cheatin' song "Happy Hour". Notable amongst the new originals is Dallas' tribute to Merle, Buck and the Bakersfield sound, "Bouncin' Beer Cans Off The Jukebox"
